Gregorian Chant – an evening with Monks from Belmont Abbey at Moccas Church
The timing is especially chosen to coincide with the extraordinary river voyage of a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Waters, sculpted by Philip Chatfield and being rowed in a canoe catamaran from Hay to Monmouth, in order to raise awareness about the pollution of the Wye and call for concerted action before it is too late.
The canoeists (Philip Chatfield and Callum Bulmer) will arrive at Bredwardine Bridge at 5pm, where Lyndon Eatough-Smith and Catherine O’Rourke will play Bridge Over Troubled Water on trumpet and saxophone, and the sculpture will be carried up the path to Moccas Church around 6.15pm.
Please be in your seats by 6.25pm.
Free to attend.
Please see our other event with details on the feast following this at Moccas Village Hall.
